Agile Management Northwest 2019 Is ON!

Business Transformation Starting with Ourselves

The Agile Management Northwest one day conference is for managers, executives and leaders who use agile practices and techniques to help organizations find a better way of working. This conference provides a place to have conversations with leading agile practitioners, share stories, and explore new ideas.

Our theme this year is “Begin the Transformation with Us.” It seems like so much of transformation work is imposed by others, leading to change efforts that lack heart and authenticity. It’s time to change that approach. We need to begin with ourselves, personally, and with those most immediate to us. We need to be the change that the organization is looking for.

We are pleased to have the fabulous Christen McLemore deliver our keynote. Christen is a powerful new voice in the agile leadership space that you won’t want to miss. She speaks with passion, experience, and most importantly, authenticity.

This year’s conference is Monday September 16th, at the Brightwater Center. The event kicks off at 8:30 am with a continental breakfast, followed by a full day of open space sessions including lunch.

Our Keynote: Christen McLemore

Christen is a recovering Project Manager and Agile Purist. With decades of practical experience coaching, leading agile transformations and consulting Fortune 100 companies, she took the leap to start her own business. She is dedicated to serving the agile coaching community by promoting Leadership, Love and Belonging!

With her quick wit and loving irreverence, Christen is known for her raw and humorous discussions with people struggling to be brave and successful in today’s sometimes callous, alienating workplaces. People appreciate her thoughtful, direct and grounding guidance that almost always ends with a mutual laugh and an f’bomb for good measure.

Christen lives in Denver, Colorado with her rescued Great Pyrenees mix, Ripley (named after Ellen Ripley from Aliens!). You'll likely find the two of them camping, finding new places for inspiration and visiting with friends year round.

About Us

What is Agile Management Northwest?

The Agile Management Northwest conference is for leaders, executives and managers who use agile practices and techniques to help organizations find a better way of working and delivering value. Our conference provides a place to hear what’s working and explore new ideas with colleagues. Unlike many larger conferences, we are keeping Agile Management Northwest small, with only 60 attendees from local organizations, so that we can focus on creating a high quality, thoroughly engaging experience.

The Vision

Agile Management Northwest facilitates community conversation and peer learning. For managers who need to understand what it means lead within agile organizations, our conference is an open space (Open Space Technology or Unconference) forum dedicated to leaders that provides a place for us to share our experiences, have conversations with leading agile practitioners, and find better ways to help our organizations become more agile.

Unlike other more traditional conferences our conference delivers community, ideas, and ultimately, action. Agile Management Northwest is focused on those of you who are accountable for successful outcomes and value delivery using agile practices.

Whether you are new to agile or a seasoned agile leader that has experience with agile practices, tools and techniques, we hope that you’ll join us for an engaging experience and gaining new ideas to take back to your organization.

The Agile Management Northwest conference premiered in September, 2016 with 80 attendees. Topics ranged from strategic leadership, managing distributed teams and the impact of offshore development to defining and measuring success, and organization structure including defining job titles/ families to support agile.
